Writing the next chapter of Boston College history

CAMPAIGN NEWS
Boston College is a better place because of the energy, creativity, perseverance, and generosity of all Eagles through the years.

Since its founding in 1863 and early days in Boston’s South End, Boston College has grown to become a major national university on four campuses and across nine schools. Every step of BC’s transformation has been aided by the visionaries and benefactors who saw the promise of where we stand now.

Following in the footsteps of those that helped build our University, BC proudly launches Soaring Higher: the Campaign for Boston College. This ambitious effort will help BC fulfill its potential as the greatest Jesuit, Catholic university in America. It will grant an unmatched formative experience to all students, and its legacy of impact on future generations called to serve others will live on “’til the echoes ring again.”

We write today with great news—Soaring Higher: the Campaign for Boston College has surpassed $2 billion!

This milestone means we are two-thirds of the way to our ambitious $3 billion goal, but that’s not all it represents. Already, Soaring Higher has eclipsed every other campaign in BC history. It truly is a historic moment.

While we are the bearers of good news, it is the generous BC community that deserves all the credit. That includes parents like you. We are immensely grateful to the more than 95,000 donors who have contributed to this campaign to date. Amazingly, a full 90 percent of gifts are of $1,000 or less, and donors have created more than 500 new scholarship funds. The collective power of this effort is extraordinary and demonstrates the vastness of the BC community.

Yet numbers don’t tell the whole story. The campaign aims to write the next chapter in BC’s history, and its impact is already being felt at all levels of support. Read more about the impact of the campaign.

We are thrilled to count you among Soaring Higher’s most generous supporters. It’s clear that Eagles everywhere are inspired by this campaign and recognize their critical role in supporting current students, while simultaneously solidifying the foundation for future generations.

This accomplishment—this rarefied air—deserves to be celebrated. But we are not slowing down. There is much work left to finish this campaign strong and ensure that Boston College keeps soaring higher.

With each passing milestone, our pride in this campaign and this university only deepens. On behalf of Boston College, thank you for all the ways in which you have risen to the challenge that we set forth back in 2023. Someone from University Advancement will reach out to you to discuss ways in which you may make an even bigger impact on the campaign—we greatly appreciate your continued commitment. Here’s to $2 billion and many more successes to come.

Sincerely,
